The Mission
We are looking for a motivated Senior Key Account Manager to create long‑term, trusting relationships with our merchant partners in Italy in the e‑commerce industry. The Senior Key Account Manager will oversee a portfolio of assigned merchant partners, actively seek new sales and business opportunities with existing partners, and collect, analyse, prepare and report key data points.
Key Responsibilities
- Retain and grow your portfolio by leading sales calls, business reviews, negotiations, and recurring check‑ins.
- Provide consultancy to merchants on how to optimise revenue and marketing, leveraging our paid premium products and services such as Affiliation and Media Packages.
- Collaborate with the Sales Team on the go‑live of large enterprises, time‑to‑market and negotiating the best setting with the merchant.
- Optimise integration to make Scalapay the most appealing option and grow the collaboration to achieve maximum penetration with your assigned portfolio.
- Manage co‑marketing activities to attract the Scalapay customer audience, collaborating with our Marketing team.
- Use data analysis to spot business opportunities and present custom sales presentations with relevant findings and research.
- Create case studies and best practices regularly, and share them internally and externally to scale your account management activities and improve our sales conversion.
- Test new approaches to increase revenue and provide a weekly forecast to your manager; increasing revenue will be your main goal.
- Be an advocate for merchants with internal stakeholders to improve our business model, integrations, products, and services.
- Support the team and overall strategy to continue positioning Scalapay as a pioneer in Buy Now, Pay Later.
- Meet merchants face‑to‑face regularly via market visits, fairs, events, and other activities.
- Keep up to date with everything in the industry; act as the industry expert for innovation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong business acumen.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to grow partnerships.
- Proven experience in upselling and cross‑selling to maximise client portfolios.
- Attitude to work following a structured sales process measured by clear leading indicators and KPIs.
- Excellent communication skills, proactive, organised and data‑driven profile.
- Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent multiple projects and execute on tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Italian and English is a must.
- 5+ years experience in account management and/or business consulting, preferably in the e‑commerce industry.
- Willingness to travel to merchant locations up to 30% of the time.
