Optimis Tech is partnering with a leading international manufacturing organisation to hire a Senior Java Developer for a long-term transformation programme based in Florence.

The role offers a 12-month freelance contract with extension opportunities and a September 2026 start. You will join an established technology team, deliver robust Java solutions, and own coding within enterprise-scale applications in a fast-moving digital initiative.

The Opportunity

You'll join an established technology team working on business-critical software within a large-scale manufacturing environment.

We're looking for a developer who can contribute from day one, work effectively within an experienced engineering team and take ownership of delivering high-quality Java solutions.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years' commercial experience developing with Java.
• Strong understanding of Java development and software engineering best practices.
• Experience working on enterprise-scale applications and complex technical environments.
• Ability to analyse requirements, design solutions and deliver robust, maintainable code.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Comfortable working collaboratively within a development team.
• Ability to work 5 days per week onsite in Florence.
