Join to apply for the Senior Inventory & Capacity Planner role at Alpinestars

Alpinestars is the leading global performance motorsports apparel, protection and footwear manufacturer. For over 55 years the company has been providing the world’s best athletes and motorsports enthusiasts in the pursuit of performance excellence with the most technologically advanced products which fuse protection, innovation and style.

In a powerful growth phase in the global market, the company is strengthening its staff to join our team. We are seeking an experienced Senior Inventory & Capacity Planner to join our Planning Department, where you will be instrumental in optimising our global inventory, efficiently balancing service level targets, budget constraints, suppliers’ capacity, and operational constraints so to shape a streamlined and effective inventory management process.

Responsibilities
  • 6‑month capacity plan – build and own the 6‑month rolling capacity plan, making sure it aligns unconstrained demand with supplier capacity. Decide to re‑phase, advance or delay demand to ensure a stable schedule that meets service level targets.
  • Be an enabler – identify bottlenecks, challenge the demand, report on capacity utilisation, select the least‑cost, least‑risk solution (considering MOQs, lead times, tooling and seasonality), and implement continuous improvements to reduce wasted capacity.
  • Provide capacity forecasts beyond 6 months to support product launches and growth across all categories, and provide key inputs to sourcing decisions.
  • Own European inventory planning and budget alignment, developing and maintaining inventory plans across product lines, optimising the inventory budget, and actively prioritising stock build‑ups against commercial objectives.
  • Actively manage aged and obsolete inventory – implement reduction plans, coordinate clearance actions, ensuring aging risk is addressed before stock becomes dead.
  • Act as a critical link between Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Procurement, and external suppliers – set priorities and drive cross‑functional decisions, acting as the person others depend on to make the call and deliver.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in inventory and/or capacity planning within an international environment.
  • Strong know‑how in managing complex SKU portfolios with high variability in demand and supply constraints.
  • Expert‑level knowledge of inventory optimisation techniques, capacity planning logic and supply chain best practices.
  • Strong data analysis and KPI reporting skills, including service level by ABC classification, capacity usage percentage vs. plan, etc.
  • Previous working experience with ERP systems such as AS400, SO99+, Microsoft Dynamics (preferred) and proficiency with BI tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to influence and challenge assumptions to drive cross‑functional discussions.
  • A proactive approach and innovative mindset ready to propose alternative, measurable solutions and ownership of implementation.
  • Fluency in English.
