MRL Consulting Group | Global Niche Technology Recruitment is partnering with an early-stage Milan-based semiconductor company to recruit a Senior IC Lead for analog/mixed-signal silicon execution and architecture-to-tape-out ownership.

You will lead a small IC team while remaining hands-on, guiding silicon programmes, engaging with foundries and external partners, and shaping the next generation of ultra-low-power AI hardware for edge applications.

Qualifications

• Strong Analog / Mixed-Signal IC design experience.
• Experience taking silicon through multiple tape-outs.
• Experience owning or leading multiple silicon programs.
• Knowledge of schematic design, layout, verification and sign-off.
• Experience with PVT / Monte Carlo analysis.
• Silicon bring-up and characterisation experience.
• Experience working with foundries and external semiconductor partners.
• Understanding of productising silicon.
• Experience leading a small technical team while remaining hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Lead analog and mixed-signal IC design from architecture to tape-out.
• Drive silicon programmes across revisions and sign-off.
• Mentor a small IC team while staying hands-on.
• Collaborate with foundries, EDA providers, packaging, test and partners.
• Support silicon bring-up, debug and characterization.
• Contribute to silicon roadmap.

MRL Consulting is working with an innovative early-stage semiconductor and AI company based in Milan, developing a new generation of ultra-low-power AI technology for edge applications.

The company is now moving from successful silicon development into an exciting productisation and scale‑up phase, and is looking for a Senior IC Lead to take ownership of its silicon execution and help shape its next generation of hardware.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Analog / Mixed-Signal IC Designer who wants to remain hands‑on while taking genuine technical leadership responsibility.

The Role

As Senior IC Lead, you will take ownership of IC development from architecture through to tape‑out, silicon bring‑up and productisation.

You’ll lead a small IC team while remaining deeply involved in the technical work yourself.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Leading and contributing to analog and mixed‑signal IC design


• Taking silicon programmes from architecture through tape‑out


• Driving design decisions across multiple silicon revisions


• Schematic design and layout review


• PVT and Monte Carlo analysis


• Verification and sign‑off


• Silicon bring‑up, debug and characterisation


• Working with foundries, EDA providers, packaging, test and external partners


• Considering manufacturability, testability, yield and product requirements


• Leading and developing a small, highly technical IC team


• Contributing to the company’s future silicon roadmap

What we’re looking for

You’ll Ideally Have

• Strong Analog / Mixed‑Signal IC Design experience


• Experience taking silicon through multiple tape‑outs


• Experience owning or significantly leading multiple silicon programmes


• Strong knowledge of schematic design, layout, verification and sign‑off


• Experience with PVT / Monte Carlo analysis


• Silicon bring‑up and characterisation experience


• Experience working with foundries and external semiconductor partners


• A strong understanding of productising silicon


• Experience leading a small technical team while remaining hands‑on


• A genuine appetite for working in an early‑stage semiconductor environment
