Job description

D-Orbit is looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst to join our Finance team, based in Fino Mornasco.

In this role, you will help transform financial data into actionable insights, supporting decision-making across the business and enabling sustainable growth in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. You will play a key role in improving financial visibility, strengthening planning processes and supporting strategic initiatives.

You will work closely with Finance, Business Unit leaders, Project Managers and senior management, contributing to performance management, financial discipline and informed business decisions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
FP&A – Planning, Forecasting & Reporting
  • Contribute to the preparation and continuous improvement of the Group's integrated three-statement model (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), including driver-based assumptions.
  • Coordinate and consolidate the annual budget, periodic forecasts (rolling forecast/reforecast) and the long-range/multiyear plan.
  • Produce monthly management reporting, including actual vs. budget/forecast variance analysis with clear commentary on drivers and risks.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and management dashboards for the Group and individual business units.
  • Support the month end and quarter-end close from an FP&A perspective, working closely with Accounting and Controlling.
  • Analyze large transaction datasets to reconcile, validate and derive insight from actuals.
Business Partnering
  • Act as the finance point of contact for assigned business Units, supporting them in managing their budgets and cost base.
  • Provide program/project financial analysis in a capital-intensive environment: capex planning, project profitability, cost to complete and milestone tracking.
  • Partner on business cases, investment appraisals (NPV, IRR, payback) and ad-hoc decision-support analysis.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively, identify risks and opportunities, and drive accountability for financial performance across the organization.
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of public funding and grants.
Cash, Working Capital & Financial Control
  • Contribute to cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Support financial control activities and help strengthen internal processes and controls.
  • Support the automation and continuous improvement of planning and reporting tools and systems.
Cross-functional & Ad-hoc
  • Prepare analysis and materials for management, the Board and, where relevant, investor-facing reporting.
  • Support strategic and corporate initiatives (e.g. M&A support, fundraising, special projects) as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering Management or a related quantitative field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, financial controlling or business partnering, ideally within an international group, scale up, manufacturing, engineering or technology environment.
  • Strong understanding of the three financial statements and how they interconnect.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining financial models and driving budgeting/forecasting cycles.
  • Advanced Excel/financial modelling skills (comfort with large datasets, complex formulas, structured model design).
  • Solid grounding in IFRS accounting principles.
  • Fluent English and Italian.
Preferred/Nice-to-Have
  • Experience in a capital-intensive, project- or program-driven industry (aerospace, defense, hardware/deep-tech, engineering, manufacturing).
  • Exposure to public funding/grant reporting (ESA, EU, PNRR or similar).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor LN, NetSuite) and BI/planning tools (e.g. Power BI, Tagetik, or similar).
  • Familiarity with a listed-company environment and its reporting requirements.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Excellent business partnering and communication skills; able to explain financial concepts to nonfinance stakeholders.
  • Proactive, hands on and comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with a continuous-improvement attitude.

We offer a base salary range of 55’000€ - 65’000€ gross per year for this role, depending on experience and location, plus a performance-based variable component. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, location, and internal consistency across comparable roles.
