Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) seeks a Senior Forestry Officer (Forest Foods, Nutrition and Wildlife) in Rome to lead policy and technical work on forest foods, wildlife and food security. You will guide cross-divisional programmes, liaise with Members, and drive evidence-based approaches to sustainable forest-based nutrition.

The role requires an advanced degree and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience, with English proficiency and knowledge of another

Competenze

• Advanced university degree in forest, agriculture or natural resources management, biodiversity or social sciences.
• Ten years of relevant experience in forestry, wildlife management, biodiversity conservation, natural resources management, forest-based food systems.
• Working knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of another official FAO language.

Mansioni

• Leads highly specialized or multidisciplinary teams and participates in cross-divisional work groups.
• Provides technical leadership and policy advice to develop and implement programmes and budgets.
• Oversees development of technical standards, instruments and policy tools related to forest foods and sustainable wildlife management.
• Represents FAO in international meetings and fosters strategic partnerships and donor relations.
• Leads resource mobilization strategies and contributes to capacity development and training.
