Chiesi seeks a Senior Director, Clinical Excellence AIR - Bronchiectasis & Non-obstructive Lung Diseases, based in Lecce, Puglia, Italy. The role leads a physician-scientist team across geographies, aligning R&D with commercial goals and shaping trial designs to support regulatory success.

Competenze

• Minimum 8–10 years in pharmaceutical R&D with substantial clinical development leadership roles.

• Define and drive the clinical development strategy for Bronchiectasis, Pulmonary Hypertension and Interstitial Lung Diseases in line with R&D and commercial objectives.

In this role you steer the global clinical development strategy for key respiratory indications, leading a physician-scientist team across geographies. You will align R&D and commercial goals, shape trial designs, and drive regulatory success with high scientific and operational impact. You thrive in a cross-functional, matrix environment and help build a high-performing, inclusive culture. • Define and drive the clinical development strategy for Bronchiectasis, Pulmonary Hypertension and Interstitial Lung Diseases in line with R&D and commercial objectives
• Serve as senior clinical representative in global cross-functional governance for asset development and prioritization
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of scientific, regulatory, and competitive landscapes within respiratory medicine
• Lead, develop, and inspire a team of Clinical Development professionals across multiple geographies
• Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and development plans for individuals and the team
• Foster a culture of trust, empowerment, collaboration, and accountability
• Drive operational excellence through coaching, resource planning, and risk mitigation
• Participate in departmental and broader talent development, succession planning, and leadership forums
• Provide medical and scientific leadership across all phases of clinical trials
• Ensure optimal study designs, endpoints, and execution strategies to support regulatory approval and market access
• Contribute to health authority briefing documents and major regulatory submissions
• Minimum 8–10 years in pharmaceutical R&D with substantial clinical development leadership roles
