WLG in La Spezia invites an experienced cloud engineer to move a research organisation's infrastructure to the cloud, assess on‑prem workloads, decide what stays on premises or belongs in the cloud, and plan, build and run the new environment.

You will lead the cloud and systems engineering team, establish best practices, manage both on‑prem and cloud platforms, and drive agile project execution with daily standups.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
• 4–8 years in a cloud engineer role or related position.
• Experience managing IT projects using Agile principles.
• Experience with Active Directory services and DNS/DHCP.
• Familiarity with VMware ESX and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Proficiency with Linux/UNIX, Docker, and Azure.
• Knowledge of web services (REST/RPC).
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks.

• Identify and implement cloud-based solutions with IT team.
• Plan, design, and develop on-premises and cloud apps.
• Manage on-premises infrastructure and cloud environment per security guidelines.
• Lead the cloud/systems engineering team and establish best practices.
• Oversee system administration on premises and in cloud.
• Coordinate and automate on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Define project plans and backlogs; monitor and report progress.
• Run the team day-to-day following Agile principles, including daily standups.
