Job summary

AIG in Milano is seeking a Senior Casualty Underwriter to leverage technical underwriting expertise and strong people skills. This role offers exposure to a range of casualty lines and opportunities to mentor junior underwriters while building broker relationships in a predominantly in-office environment.

You will underwrite new and renewal business, analyze financial statements, and negotiate terms with brokers and clients.

Qualifications

• Proven underwriting experience with good knowledge of Casualty.
• Ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Customer and sales oriented: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, accountable.
• Interest in mentoring and training if you have not held these duties previously.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite a range of new and renewal Casualty business and drive profitable growth.
• Communicate risk appetite and our value proposition to brokers; negotiate pricing, terms, and deal structures.
• Expand broker network, attend broker events, and build relationships across the market.
• Collaborate with Distribution, territory managers, and other underwriters to target accounts and cross-sell.
• Mentor and train less-experienced underwriters and support their broker network development.
