A growing energy company in Milan is seeking a Buyer to manage the procurement process and develop supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering or related fields and at least 4 years of experience in buying, preferably in the energy sector. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams, along with a willingness to travel to Boston as needed.

Purpose of the Role

Manage the procurement process for strategic materials and services, ensuring quality, competitive costs, on-time deliveries, and compliance with purchasing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire purchasing process, taking full ownership and ensuring transparency and efficiency at every stage.
• Conduct contract and commercial negotiations with strong bargaining skills, securing favorable conditions for the company in terms of cost and commercial clauses.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers both nationally and internationally, expanding and consolidating the supply base.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the execution of orders and in meeting agreed deadlines.
• Manage supplier relationships throughout the entire order lifecycle, ensuring alignment with contractual terms and supporting the Expediting function in case of critical issues or delays.
• Collaborate actively with various company functions (Engineering, Quality, Production, Finance, Project Management, Expediting) to ensure consistency and efficiency in the procurement process.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Buyer / Senior Buyer, preferably in industrial, technical, or mechanical and/or plant engineering contexts.
• Experience in international Supplier management.
• Experience in managing complex tenders for EPC contracts in the Energy or Oil & Gas sectors and technical knowledge of the electro‑mechanical sectors are considered a plus.
• Some travels to our Boston office will be required. It's important that the candidate holds a valid passport and is willing to travel when needed.
