A premier luxury digital group is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks. The role involves managing data ingestion within AWS and building data models for analysis. Candidates should possess a degree in a related field, have strong technical skills in Databricks, SQL, and Python, and excel in a team-oriented, agile environment. This is a full-time position based in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks (Python, SQL, PySpark).
  • Manage data ingestion and transformation from multiple sources within the AWS ecosystem (S3, Glue, Lambda, etc.).
  • Build and maintain Tabular Cubes (SSAS/ Power BI datasets) to support efficient data modeling and analysis.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and analysts to translate business requirements into scalable data models and dashboards.
  • Contribute to version control and collaborative development using Bitbucket (Git).
  • Monitor and optimize data workflows, ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance with BI best practices.
  • Support end‑to‑end delivery — from data extraction to visualization — within an Agile environment (2‑week sprints, sprint planning, iterations, and reviews).
WHO YOU ARE
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or BI Developer in cloud‑based data environments.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Databricks, SQL, Python, and PySpark.
  • Experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda).
  • Proficiency in data modeling (DAX, performance tuning).
  • Experience building Tabular Cubes (Analysis Services or Power BI semantic models).
  • Familiarity with Git/Bitbucket for version control and CI/CD integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with fluency in English.
