Job summary

Eight Sleep, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to expand product features and scale distributed systems across our backend, embedded, ML, mobile, and BI ecosystems.

You will design, implement, and support distributed backend services, maintain large data pipelines, and collaborate with world-class talent to push the sleep fitness platform forward. The role offers equity and a fast-paced, high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of backend/SRE experience.
• Proficient in at least two languages (Java/Scala/Kotlin, C#/F#, Python, NodeJS/TypeScript).
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the data processing pipeline (5Tb per day).
• Develop tools to guarantee the availability of our services (~30 microservices) and automate their operation.
• Contribute to the development of back-end services and product features.
