Job summary

Axelera AI is seeking a Staff AI Application Engineer to build the model enablement platform and decide how models run across Metis/Europa AIPU, host CPU, and accelerators. You will collaborate across frontend, graph compiler, runtime and pipeline teams.

You will cover frontend/graph bring-up while a device-side engineer handles backend, using AI coding agents to assist in development, testing and verification. This role welcomes experienced field engineers returning to hands-on work.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in systems, compilers, runtimes or performance with ownership.
• Hands-on heterogeneous compute across CPU/GPU/DSP/NPU/FPGA.
• Strong knowledge of computer architecture, OS and parallel programming.
• Familiar with ML graph representations: graph capture, lowering, fusion, partitioning.
• Proficient in C++ and Python; able to guide AI agents in engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Build model enablement platform and agent harness for model bring-up.
• Capture and split models across AIPU matrix, vector units, CPU and accelerators.
• Extend splits to large models and multi-model pipelines with caching.
• Work with teams to optimize end-to-end performance and data movement.
• Study critical models and translate lessons into platform improvements.
