Job summary

North Sails Apparel in Milan is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage general accounting activities, support month-end and year-end closings, and ensure accurate financial reporting across an international group.

The role requires a degree in accounting/finance, several years in general accounting, ERP and Excel proficiency, and fluency in Italian and English; you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and assist audits, with a strong focus on controls and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Several years in General Accounting within an international environment.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Good command of Italian and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Manage general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations and adjusting entries.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Perform intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and accounting records.
• Assist in audits and statutory financial statements preparation.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies and audit requirements.
