Overview
Thales Alenia Space is a Joint Venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), a global space manufacturer delivering high-tech solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth Observation, environmental management, exploration, science and orbital infrastructures. We are looking for a Satellite IVVQ RF ENGINEER.
Responsibilities
- Technical requirements management across the system (platform, payload, satellite, E2E) including specification tree and relationships between layers.
- Use and familiarity with requirements management tools (DOORS or Polarion).
- Define and manage flow-down, traceability, change/deviation impact analysis and related documentation (Traceability matrix, CR/CN, RFD/W).
- Familiarity with ECSS standards and project development documentation (DDP), model philosophy and compliance matrices.
- Aptitude for co-engineering with the project team to ensure integrity, clarity and completeness of the requirements database, and verifiability.
- Verification Engineering: define verification plans for qualification or acceptance, knowledge of various verification approaches (EM/EQM development models, QM qualification, PFM proto-qualification, FM acceptance/flight).
- Definition of verification methods for each requirement (SAR payload part, PDHT, TT&C) and management of the Verification Control Document (VCD/DVCM).
- Use of DOORS/Polarion for verification activities and support management of internal and customer-facing boards for verification validation (VCB).
- Collaboration with project team and AIT to ensure completeness of verification data and clarity in evidence for requirements closure.
- Test requirements and evaluation of results: define test requirements for various project requirements, define implementation details and test execution phases, and draft Test Plans (TP) for SAR, PDHT, TT&C, including integrated satellite level and changes; analyze and evaluate the AIT business plan.
- Participation in the test campaign (including overseas) and test validation with drafting of evaluation reports (Test Evaluation Report); support completion and closure of the verification cycle through final VCDs and VCBs; participate in defining a test plan for a satellite launch campaign.

- Engineering Degree.
- Experience in the functional area on radiofrequency systems, particularly Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and on-board image storage and transmission to ground (PDHT) systems, RF command and control (TT&C) systems, preferably with satellite experience.
- Knowledge of technical requirements management, from specification tree to relationships between layers of a complex system.
- Familiarity with ECSS standards and project documentation; aptitude for co-engineering with project teams.
- Familiarity with DOORS or Polarion and related engineering practices for verification and test activities.
