About The Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Sales Department, the Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s Sales strategy and reports to the Sales Director.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure coverage of assigned markets, with a primary focus on the USA;
  • Meet and entertain all influential clients and ensure thorough follow‑up;
  • Organise and deliver familiarisation site inspection trips of the hotel for major clients;
  • Work closely with key contacts, seeking new business to meet financial targets in the annual sales plan;
  • Attend local and overseas trade shows, hotel and tourist association meetings to identify market opportunities;
  • Plan and, where appropriate, execute sales trips to key existing market areas and identify new potential market areas;
  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of sales & marketing strategies to maximise room revenues in the Middle Eastern market;
  • Collaborate with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Regional Sales Offices and third‑party organisations in assigned territories to maximise sales opportunities;
  • Promote other Mandarin Oriental properties whenever possible and effectively distribute sales leads;
  • Attend weekly departmental sales meetings;
  • Monitor sales activities of market competitors, build effective relationships and report at sales meetings.
Qualifications
  • Passionate about the luxury experience, building excellent rapport with clients, detail‑oriented, diligent and adaptable to changing priorities;
  • Excellent computer skills and well‑versed in all computer applications;
  • Capable of working well under stressful high‑pressure situations while maintaining composure and objectivity;
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑changing environment;
  • Established network of connections;
  • Excellent business negotiation and customer‑relationship management skills;
  • Available to travel abroad;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a 5‑star hotel environment within Sales;
  • High knowledge of Italian and English.
