Our iconic Hotel Cipriani, a Belmond Hotel, in Venice, is looking for a Safety and Security Manager.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety and Security Manager to oversee all aspects of safety, security, and risk management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong strategic mindset and will be responsible for fostering a strong safety culture across all properties, working with the divisional safety and security lead and General Manager to create a secure and welcoming environment for our guests and staff.

Your role will include, but not be limited to :
  • Taking responsibility for the day to day running of the department ensuring the long-term success of the security and safety operations of the Hotel
  • The production of the detailed local Security Policies and Procedures, and Crisis / Emergency Plans
  • Overall responsibility for security systems, such as CCTV and access control
  • Dealing with investigations as required
  • Conducting security audits
  • Responsibility for life safety systems
  • Exceeding guest expectations with service, ensuring smooth and seamless operations which are both discreet and effective
  • Instilling a continuous improvement mindset whilst striving to improve service standards and anticipating guests and management requirements
  • Managing the operational risk in directing, administering, supervising, planning, coordinating, and participating in the activities of the Security Department
  • Engaging the wider hotel teams in all matters pertaining to the Hotel’s security and safety procedures, and ensuring compliance at all times
  • Leading and coaching the various departmental Managers to develop processes and procedures that will improve efficiency in all departments
  • Facilitating training for all staff in addition to providing ongoing support to current colleagues
Requirements
  • Certification in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
  • Effective communication both in English and in Italian is mandatory
  • 5-10 + years of progressive experience in safety and security management
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive safety and security programs
  • Strong knowledge of physical security principles, security technologies (CCTV, access control), and business
  • Excellent leadership, strategy communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant safety and security regulations, including European standards
