Job summary

Italdesign Giugiaro S.p.A. is seeking a Rims and Tyres Component Responsible to lead end-to-end technical development, from concept to SOP and series support.

You will balance styling, performance, aerodynamics, weight, durability, and cost against timing targets while coordinating with OEMs, suppliers and internal teams. The role requires 3+ years in automotive component development, a Master’s degree in engineering, and strong product and supplier management skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in automotive component development, preferably rims/tyres.
• Master’s degree in mechanical/automotive engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics fundamentals and PPAP/quality processes.
• Experience in supplier management and cross-functional development environments.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage complete development of rims and tyres from concept to SOP and series support.
• Define technical specifications, targets, validation requirements and release conditions.
• Coordinate feasibility, packaging, 3D/2D development, tolerances and design freeze.
• Support sourcing and supplier nomination with complete technical documentation.
• Lead supplier co-engineering and monitor component maturity, timing, cost and weight.
• Manage BOM, release status, variants and engineering changes.
• Coordinate wheel and tyre performance development including NVH and aerodynamics.
• Plan and coordinate validation, testing and engineering sign-off.
