Mode Search is partnering with a leading international luxury retailer to appoint a retail Training Manager to be based from their location just outside of Milan.
This role plays a key part in elevating talent standards, strengthening brand partner support, and enhancing customer experience through best-in-class training and development programmes across a prestigious retail environment.
The role reports into the Brand Talent & Training Director and works closely with the senior retail leadership team.
This position is permanent, full-time, and requires on site working 4 to 5 days a week.
Role
- Develop and execute training strategy to enhance skills and performance for brand employees
- Design and deliver targeted development programmes in partnership with the Talent & Training Director and retail leadership
- Measure programme effectiveness and report on ROI quarterly
- Lead special learning initiatives, including a Retail Academy model
- Improve store management capability through structured training programmes
- Assess brand-led training and ensure a consistent, high-quality learning experience
- Manage training budgets, ensuring cost control and return on investment
- Source and manage external / internal subject experts for programme delivery
- Enhance retail-focused development training (conversion, VM, membership, cultural awareness)
- Update and redesign existing learning content where required
- Coach Store Managers and support ongoing skills development
- Champion organisational culture and values through learning initiatives
- Research emerging L&D technologies and methodologies
- Utilise customer experience and ambassador programme results to inform training actions
- Administer and enhance the brand recruitment platform, ensuring adoption and engagement across all partners
- Track headcount and vacancies; implement hiring strategies to support talent availability for
- Represent the brands at recruitment events; build strong partnerships with universities and talent communities
- Oversee seasonal and temporary staffing strategy to ensure optimal talent levels during key trading periods
Requirements
- Experience in premium or luxury retail and retail training
- Degree in Education or a related field
- Proven success developing and rolling out large-scale training initiatives
- Strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder and communication skills
- Energetic, passionate and committed to developing others
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
- Highly organised with a proactive approach
- Fluency in English and Italian; additional European languages are advantageous
