Senior Accountant / Finance – Milan, Italy

Our client, a multinational Oil & Gas company (~€190M turnover), is looking for a Senior Accountant to manage the AFC area of the Italian subsidiary.

In this central, high-impact role, you will handle general accounting, financial closings, international taxation, and reporting to the Parent Company, working closely with external accountants and auditors.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage the general ledger and monthly, quarterly, annual closings
• Prepare statutory financial statements and support consolidated reporting
• Oversee EU / foreign VAT (Belgium, Netherlands, Germany), intercompany flows, AR / AP, and treasury
• Support budgeting, forecasting, KPI monitoring, and continuous process improvement

What We’re Looking For:

• 7–10 years in AFC / Senior Accounting roles in multinational companies
• Strong knowledge of EU VAT, foreign VAT, and triangulations
• Experience with external audits (Big 4 preferred)
• Excellent Excel skills and fluent English
• Hands‑on, proactive, able to work in a small, agile team
