Job summary

ALTIA seeks an Advanced Data Scientist & Remote Sensing AI Engineer to join our team in supporting international research and decision-support platforms.

The role involves integrating Earth observation data with meteorological feeds and wildfire databases to develop burnt-area mapping workflows and pan-European risk models, while prototyping cutting-edge geospatial algorithms and DL models.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a relevant field and strong IT experience.
• 10+ years with remote-sensing/EO in wildfires context.
• 5+ years as AI/ML Engineer related to wildfires.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, calibration, and validation of automated high-resolution burnt-area mapping workflows.
• Develop pan-European wildfire risk models and wildfire behaviour/spread simulations.
• Contribute to cloud/HPC geospatial processing environments and scalable AI pipelines.
