Jobgether on behalf of a partner company is seeking a Data Scientist (Time Series Forecasting) based in Italy to join a fully remote, distributed team powering a live energy trading platform.

You will design and optimize forecasting models for weather, energy prices, and grid supply/demand, translating models into robust production-ready code using Python and SQL, with Go as an advantage. The role emphasizes collaboration across global teams and measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field.
• At least three years of data science, forecasting, or related experience.
• Demonstrated time series forecasting expertise.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; Go is a plus.
• Experience using agentic coding tools.
• Excellent English communication in remote, international settings.
• Energy markets, weather data, or grid data knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine forecasting models for weather, energy prices, and grid demand.
• Translate forecasting algorithms into robust production-ready code for a live energy trading platform.
• Analyze datasets, identify patterns, and improve forecast accuracy to support data-driven decisions.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development tools into daily workflows to accelerate implementation.
• Collaborate with distributed teams to align model development with business and platform requirements.
