Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking a Regional Energy Manager to join our team in Naples, Italy. This role requires 70% travel to support the operational objectives of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems installations in Djibouti, Bahrain, Spain, Crete, Romania, and Poland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement a robust energy management program in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Assist NAVFAC energy managers in achieving energy goals.
  • Provide design review and support energy-related facility projects.
  • Manage energy programs: EPSP, ESPC, ERCIP, PPA, EVSE, 2912, renewables, FRCS, Smart Grid, microgrids, storage, and audits.
  • Identify and oversee energy-saving projects.
  • Conduct facility audits and document Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs).
  • Track and manage projects via IEPS and PMM.
  • Promote energy and water conservation initiatives.
  • Develop and sustain an Energy Awareness Program.
  • Support energy security, resilience, and sustainability efforts.
  • Prepare energy audit packages and economic analyses.
  • Facilitate financing projects and cost reduction strategies.
  • Analyze utility consumption and diagnose inefficiencies.
  • Enhance O&M efficiency and adopt new technologies.
  • Verify data accuracy and optimize resource usage.
  • Prepare reports and support energy award nominations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Energy Manager within the Department of Defense (DoD) or similar government facilities.

  • Strong understanding of energy resilience, reliability, and efficiency principles applicable to facilities and major energy projects.

  • Ability to analyze technical engineering drawings, specifications, statements of work, and contract documents related to energy projects.

  • Experience in monitoring energy consumption, auditing facilities, and developing reports while maintaining project schedules and budgets.

  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Preferred: Training and knowledge of IEPs, DUERs, NSGEMs, or other Navy energy platforms.

  • Ability to perform moderate physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments, including active construction sites.
