Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking a Regional EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health & Safety performance across multiple projects in Italy. The role drives compliance and promotes a positive safety culture, ensuring effective implementation of Kirby’s EHS Management System.

The position requires senior leadership across the region, conducting audits and investigations, and coordinating with regulators, clients, and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma (Level 8 or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years' EHS experience within construction, engineering, electrical, mechanical, or related industries.
  • Senior EHS leadership experience across multiple projects or locations.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Construction Regulations, and CDM requirements.
  • Experience leading audits, investigations, and EHS management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills.
  • Professional membership (IOSH or equivalent) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support EHS teams across the region.
  • Monitor regional EHS performance, KPIs, audits, incidents, and compliance activities.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of the EHS Management System across all projects.
  • Lead serious incident investigations and oversee corrective and preventative actions.
  • Conduct regional audits and inspections to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide EHS advice and guidance to operational leadership, project teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Develop and deliver EHS initiatives, training, and safety improvement programmes.
  • Support tender submissions, client engagements, and prequalification requirements.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and key stakeholders as required.

Role Purpose

  • Professional membership (IOSH or equivalent) desirable.
  • Able to influence, coach, and support teams at all levels of the organisation.
  • Willingness to travel across the region as required.
