Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer – Aerospace

Join to apply for the Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer – Aerospace role at TXT GROUP.

As part of the Embedded Systems Business Unit, TXT e-Tech is looking for an Avionics Software Engineer to support the software certification of encryption libraries and safety‑critical bootloaders for aerospace applications, in accordance with DO-178C requirements. The selected candidate will work alongside a team of experts to develop, verify and document software certification artefacts for embedded systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and verification of safety-critical embedded software for aerospace applications.
  • Assist in the preparation of DO-178C certification documentation (software development plans, verification plans, traceability matrices).
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests for embedded software.
  • Support requirement analysis and coverage assessment for software certification.
  • Contribute to software verification through static and dynamic analysis.
  • Review and assess the impact of existing certification artifacts for potential reuse.
Requirements
Essential Technical Skills
  • Basic knowledge of software development for real‑time embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with embedded software architectures and low‑level firmware.
  • Knowledge of at least one structured programming language (C, C++ or Python preferred).
Optional Technical Skills
  • Experience with static analysis tools, unit testing frameworks, or debugging on embedded platforms.
  • Experience with low-level debugging of boards and processors (C to assembler).
  • Familiarity with cryptography and security concepts in embedded systems.
  • Experience with software versioning tools (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with DO-178C software certification principles.
Soft Skills
  • Strong problem‑solving and teamwork skills.
  • Structured and detail‑oriented approach.
  • Good written and spoken English for documentation and reporting.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Space Engineering, or other equivalent STEM disciplines.
