Job Description:

RINA is recruiting a Railway Senior System Engineer to join its offices in Genoa and Turin within the Electronics and Systems Engineering Division.

Mission: The Railway System Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing railway systems to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency. This includes system-level thinking across rolling stock, signaling, infrastructure, power supply, and communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage railway system requirements, architecture, and subsystem interactions.
  • Select appropriate technologies and configurations for new projects.
  • Ensure interoperability and validate system compatibility across networks (e.g., ERTMS, CBTC, PTC).
  • Enhance system performance in capacity, energy consumption, and reliability.
  • Manage system upgrades, modernization, asset management, and maintenance planning.
  • Implement digitalization solutions like IoT, AI, Big Data, Digital Twin, and Smart Signaling technologies.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronic/TLC Engineering.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of railway engineering and operations, including rolling stock, signaling, electrification, and infrastructure.
  • Experience with systems engineering, interface management, and standards such as EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, ETCS/ERTMS, IEC 62290.
