AMETEK Inc. in Lombardy, Italy seeks a Mechatronic Engineer to design and develop brushless blowers, hybrid steppers and sustain legacy products from concept to pilot run.

You will collaborate with electrical, laboratory and production teams, manage BOMs, support testing, and adapt designs for cost and manufacturing efficiencies. The role requires a technical diploma or degree and hands-on project delivery with English and Italian language proficiency.

Competenze

• Higher Technician Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical design and development experience with electric motors or electromechanical products.
• Familiarity with mass-production processes and cost optimization.
• Understanding of aerodynamics and fluid dynamics basics.
• Basic electronics knowledge for motor drivers.
• Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams in English and Italian.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

As the Mechatronic Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of brushless blowers, hybrid steppers and sustaining of legacy products. You will be coordinating closely with electrical design engineers, laboratory engineers and sampling technicians to jointly create motors from concept to pilot run . You will report to the Project Manager of Brushless Blowers.

What you will do:

• Design and development of new products by 3D CAD based on product specs (design, reliability and cost requirements)
• Design customization of existing products in accordance with specific customer requirements and specifications
• Sustaining of legacy products (i.e. implementation of design change for cost reduction, manufacturing process optimization, etc)
• Manage part lists and bill of materials by Windchill and SAP
• Support closely and actively Lab testing and construction of samples
• Software customization, parametrization and tuning based on specific Customers requirements, including proof of concept and system validation by laboratory testing
• Contribute to the definition of qualification test plan for Brushless Blowers and Steppers (controller, motor, air management system, etc)
• Close interaction with colleagues located in Serbia and Czech Republic plants
• Support manufacturing for Manufacturing Check Samples construction and Pilot Run production

What we are looking for:

• Higher Technician Diploma (ITS Academy Lombardia) or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design and development of electric motors or comparable electromechanical products for high-volume production, using 3D CAD tools
• Familiarity with mass-production manufacturing processes, with a focus on cost optimization and design-to-cost principles
• Understanding of aeraulic and fluid dynamic basic principles
• Basic electronic knowhow applied to drivers for brushless motors and steppers
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with cross-functional teams and production facilities
• Strong analytical skills for design optimisation and troubleshooting
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple projects
• Good knowledge of English and Italian Languages
