Atlas Copco is seeking a skilled R&D Design Engineer for its Product Company in Italy. You will drive development from concept to validated prototypes for next-generation piston compressor machines, delivering energy-efficient and high-performance solutions to the market.

You will join a global, fast-growing team, collaborating across the Project Team, R&D Leaders, and Test Engineers to optimize design, calculations, and BOMs while ensuring quality and value for customers.

Competenze

• Requires a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of design and process manufacturing experience in an industrial design environment.
• Proficiency in CAD design, mechanical parts calculation, and BOM management.

Mansioni

• Support the entire development process—from component design to full machine validation.
• Create technical drawings, perform calculations, and conduct testing.
• Collaborate with the Project Team to bring innovative technologies from concept to product.
• Focus on maximizing customer value while minimizing waste.
• Coordinate with the R&D Engineering Team Leader, Project Leader, and Test Engineer to ensure efficient project execution.

At our Product Company, we’re looking for aDesign Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to thedevelopment of next-generation piston compressor machines.

We’re on a mission to introduce new, energy-efficient, high-performance, and environmentally conscious products to the compressor market. As a Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in turning ideas into reality, transforming concepts into prototypes and supporting the journey to full-scale industrialization.

If you will join us in this role you will initiate new projects and follow up existing ones, reporting to the R&D Engineering Team Leader and cooperating with the Project Leader and Test Engineer to create an efficient and effective R&D organization.

What will you be responsible for as Design Engineer?

• Support the entire development process—from component design to full machine validation.
• Createtechnical drawings, perform calculations, and conduct testing.
• Collaborate closely with theProject Team, applying your technical leadership to bring innovative technologies from concept to product.
• Focus onmaximizing customer valuewhile minimizing waste.
• Work alongside theR&D Engineering Team Leader,Project Leader, andTest Engineerto ensure efficient and effective project execution.

What do we expect from you?

• Adegree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in design and process manufacturing, ideally in an industrial design environment.
• Strong skills inCAD design,mechanical parts calculation, andBOM management.

• Proficiency inMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel)and experience withInventor or similar CAD tools.
• Fluency in English(written and spoken).

• The offered salary starts from€33,000 gross per year, with a higher starting point available for candidates bringing relevant experience and expertise
