Overview

R&D Chemist

The resource will be inserted into the Laboratorio HPSS (High Performance Sustainable Solutions) to support the development of new products and the optimization of existing products for the Italian and foreign markets. The HPSS group develops innovative solutions to support the ecological transition in construction through the design of next-generation concrete additives with a low carbon footprint.

The candidate will support synthesis activities of hybrid polyethercarboxylate nanocomposites with inorganic matrices for new superplasticizers with controlled release according to Mapei MIRT (Mapei Intelligent Release Technology) and their evaluation in cementitious systems.

Responsibilities

• Support synthesis of inorganic-organic nanocomposites for concrete additives.
• Assist in optimizing existing products.
• Industrialize products in Italian plants or at foreign subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or related fields.
• Experience in organic/inorganic synthesis.
• Previous laboratory experience (professional roles and/or experimental thesis), ideally in synthesis of MOFs, functionalized inorganic nanoparticles, or nanostructured materials.
• Good command of English.
• Teamwork, good interpersonal skills, curiosity and passion.
• Willingness to travel within Italy and abroad.
