A global space manufacturer is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the quality of space equipment and products. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree or PhD in scientific subjects, fluency in English, and excellent knowledge of Italian. Responsibilities include managing quality standards, participating in supplier selection, and coordinating quality assurance across project phases. Overview

Responsibilities
  • The SCQ manager shall assure the quality of space equipment and products purchased from external suppliers, within the frame of specific projects.
  • Know and apply Quality Management System fundamentals in relation to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EN 9100, AQAP 2110 and ECSS requirements; ensure alignment with ECSS Q series.
  • Manage external/internal standards to assure quality for products purchased from suppliers across all project phases.
  • Conformity of products with EC Directives (CE marking, WEEE, RoHS); compliance to REACH Regulation; compliance to ECSS Q series requirements.
  • Participate in supplier selection and RFP activities, collaborating with buyers and engineering to verify and negotiate supplier conformity to Customer Quality Requirements, Product Assurance and Safety Requirements for sub-contractors and suppliers, and to Technical specifications.
  • Review and manage Technical Documentation such as Specific Statement of Work, Statement of Applicability (including list of Ads and PA DRL) and hardware qualification status.
  • Engage in EQSR and Design Reviews, coordinating with Engineering and Procurement to verify qualification status, maturity and coherence with project category and model philosophy; support delta qualification or new development design reviews as needed.
  • Monitor supplier performance during Manufacturing, Test and Delivery (OTD/OQD), manage quality issues during manufacturing and qualification campaigns, including new mounting technologies and delta qualifications.
  • Manage delivery review board (DRB) and ensure effective quality reviews across the lifecycle of equipment/units.
  • Coordinate and supervise the quality assurance disciplines across Proposal, Design, Production, Test and Delivery phases; manage Deviation and Waiver processes, Non-Conformities and related reporting (RFD, RFW, NCR).
  • Prepare PA Progress Reports and ensure cross-functional coordination among Quality, Engineering and Procurement.
  • Monitor and drive the integrity of the EQSR data package and risk/maturity assessments with respect to project status and requirements.
Qualifications
  • Master degree or PhD in scientific subjects.
  • Fluent knowledge of English for written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent knowledge of Italian is required.
  • Strong teamwork orientation.
