The Stellantis Cell Modules & Pack organization (PCMP) owns the main aspects of our electrification strategy, covering the entire cycle of our batteries—from concept to launch and remanufacturing within our Circular Economy hubs.
Responsibilities
- Select the best trade‑off of technologies (cell chemistry, battery management systems, pack structure and layout).
- Define targets in terms of functional objectives, costs, investments, and development timing.
- Lead the execution team to achieve program targets.
- Report to management on project progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Manage technical departments (design, control systems, testing, and cost engineering) to reach project targets, ensuring engagement of relevant technical roles in key decision points.
- Call and direct periodic technical meetings to establish correct flow of information and priorities, providing the overall engineering view and coordinated inputs.
- Deliver technical specifications in coordination with engineering departments, ensuring a trade‑off between product specifications and customer requests while balancing time and costs.
- Deliver technical recommendations, identify issues, and provide root cause analysis and mitigation plans to management review forums.
- Coordinate Bill of Material/Configuration Management (including change requests) throughout the project, collaborating with the Propulsion System Family Manager, engineering departments, suppliers, and STLA manufacturing.
- Monitor spending relative to the budget, covering engineering/design effort costs and industrial costs.
- Coordinate engineering cost evaluation for budgeting purposes or extra spending requests.
- Define the engineering development plan by collecting macro and micro‑planning activities from technical departments.
- Promote benchmarking analysis of competitor solutions to ensure the product design aligns with or exceeds industry state of the art.
Profile
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Physics.
- Knowledge/interest in electric vehicle technologies, transportation energy transition, and related trends.
- Good communication skills and ability to operate in an international, multicultural environment.
- Proactive self-organization and capability to organise team activities, setting short-term targets, prioritising, and recognising issues.
- Problem‑solving skills and knowledge of project management.
- Ability to react rapidly in a changing technical and planning environment.
- Strong target/result‑oriented approach.
- Willingness to travel within Italy and abroad.
- Previous experience in similar technical‑management engineering roles preferred (not mandatory).
