What you'll bring:

The ideal candidate will be bilingual, detail-oriented, and adept at navigating both North American and Italian construction practices. They will play a key role in translating design intent, standards, and methodologies to ensure consistent quality and efficient project delivery across both regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Canada and Italy teams, bridging differences in construction methods, terminology, and standards to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
  • Translate and explain Italian computations and building methodologies unfamiliar to Canadian-based construction teams as required.
  • Translate and interpret design intent, specifications, and calculations into actionable plans for local execution, ensuring adherence to both Onni Group standards and Italian regulations.
  • Manage all project documentation, including contracts, budgets, permits, and reports, in both English and Italian.
  • Support design development by adapting drawings and details to comply with Italian building codes, sustainability standards, and site‑specific conditions.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, perform cost control and value engineering, and recommend cost‑saving strategies.
  • Lead tendering and procurement processes, including RFPs, bid analysis, and contract awards, in accordance with local practices.
  • Oversee and coordinate local consultants, contractors, and suppliers—defining scopes, deliverables, and payment schedules.
  • Facilitate proactive communication between Italian stakeholders and Onni’s head office, ensuring clarity, accountability, and timely updates.
  • Track submittals, materials, and equipment to maintain project timelines and minimize delays.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverables, providing regular progress reports to the Vancouver team.
  • Manage permitting and inspection processes with municipal and regional authorities.
  • Review and validate change orders, invoices, and progress claims for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies related to schedule, cost, and regulatory issues.
  • Participate in constructability and value‑engineering reviews, ensuring that both Canadian and Italian perspectives are effectively integrated.
  • Perform additional project‑related duties as required.
What you'll need:
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in hotel, commercial, or mixed‑use construction or renovation.
  • Proven experience with Italian building regulations, permitting processes, and contract law.
  • Bilingual fluency in both English and Italian (written and verbal) is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultures and time zones.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with a results‑driven and proactive mindset.
  • Proven leadership and team‑building skills in coordinating diverse project teams.
  • Proficiency with project management and construction software (MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • University degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture preferred.
