Amazon Italia Transport Srl seeks a Senior Project Engineering Manager to drive innovative design, standardization, and expansion within the AMZL network in Italy. You will manage diverse deployment projects including new launches, automated solutions, and MHE layouts across Italy and potentially other EU sites.

The role requires a Bachelor’s (Master preferred), extensive program leadership, and fluency in Italian and English.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, commerce, business administration or equivalent.
• Experience leveraging technology and lean/Six Sigma to drive improvements.
• Experience implementing repeatable processes and automation/standardization.

As a member of the Italian Field Engineering team you will be responsible for managing a broad range of exciting deployment projects including new launches, Automated solutions, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) re‑layouts and other building retrofit improvements. Location can be different from Milan upon agreement with Rectuiter and HM. Other possible locations could be in Veneto or Rome. CBA Level 1. CBA for employees of Logistics, Delivery and Shipping Sector.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage projects related to the deployment of engineering solutions in delivery stations of IT Amazon Logistics (AMZL) network.
• Own projects including greenfield launches, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) re-layouts, retrofits of automated solutions and other building improvements.
• Lead the full project lifecycle from equipment ordering, layout validation, vendor coordination and project plan finalisation to installation works management, vendor commissioning, Site Acceptance Test (SAT) completion and handover to internal customers
• Interact with different functions to provide trade off solutions that satisfy potential conflicts and deliver as per guidelines
• Validate stakeholder designs and customer requirements and provide feedback in a timely manner to resolve technical deficiencies and maintain schedules
• Identifies inefficiencies of processes or standards within the allocated country or at European level and proactively leads improvements with the relevant teams

A day in the life

You will manage execution of engineering projects in AMZL delivery stations primarily across Italy or EU if required. Your day could include engaging within the organization or with vendors to execute as per guidelines, attending the site to monitor progresses on a daily basis, resolving technical deficiencies to maintain schedule and delivering as per standards. You will optimize and simplify to remove bottlenecks and make sure the project is delivered on time, budget and quality as set up by program and finally celebrating in the successful launch of the project… Day One for all of us!

The IT Field Engineering team is comprised of a talented and diverse group of project and program managers who drive coordination of all activities required to safely build complex solutions across the AMZL network. Our team puts a high value on work‑life harmony and we are dedicated to developing and supporting our new team members. This enables Project/Program Managers to execute to challenging timelines and frugal budgets to rapidly deliver new build, expansion, and retrofit projects derived from capacity, inventory, automation, and sustainability needs to improve customer experience, reduce costs and optimize the Amazon Logistics network.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, commerce, business administration or equivalent
• Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
• Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
• Experience in program or project management
• Experience with computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), or experience in MS Office including Excel
• Knowledge of at least one data‑focused technology tool, such as Python, SQL, Alteryx, Amazon QuickSight, or similar
• Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues and leadership, or experience managing teams
• Experience in analysing data and creating reports for leadership
• Speak, write, and read fluently in Italian and English at C1 level or above

The minimum gross base salary for this position is listed below. The base salary listed corresponds to working on a full-time basis. For part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rated. Amazon reserves the right to offer a higher salary and/or level, depending on the candidate's skills, competencies, and experience. Amazon's package may include a sign on payment. In addition, the candidate may be eligible to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA. Your recruiting team will share final salary and any restricted stock unit scheme if applicable, depending on skills and requirements. In addition to statutory benefits, and those applicable to the relevant CBA, company supplementary benefits may apply subject to further terms.
