This role offers the flexibility to work remotely across Italy and provides the opportunity to transition to a new Milan office as it opens. Candidates should have a degree in engineering, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and strong project management skills. Project Engineer – Renewable Energy (Solar PV & Storage)

Location: Fully Remote (Italy) to start, with optional Milan office once opened

Employment Type : Full-time, permanent

Are you passionate about accelerating the clean-energy transition? A leading international renewable-energy developer is expanding its presence in Italy and is looking for a Project Engineer to join its growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in Italy initially, with the option to transition into a new Milan office as the team scales.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and coordination of solar PV, hybrid PV + storage, and grid-connection infrastructure.
• Oversee LV, MV, and HV infrastructure design (overhead lines, underground cables, switching / transformer stations, substations).
• Manage and review external engineering firms, ensuring alignment with technical and company standards.
• Support development by evaluating project design status, technical constraints, and cost impacts.
• Estimate project yield and maintain strong relationships with EPCs, equipment suppliers, investors, utilities, developers, and landowners.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Electrical, Civil, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years' experience in a similar role within the Italian renewable-energy market.
• Strong understanding of Italian permitting processes and familiarity with E-Distribuzione and Terna procedures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Google Earth, IMEDEXA (or similar), and substation design tools.
• Strong project-management and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Fluent English; additional languages a plus.
• Experience with BESS projects is highly desirable.
