ABOUT YOU
Apply if you.
- Have a degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering with a specialisation in Construction or similar.
- Have 3-6 years' experience in the design of industrial or energy plants, preferably in an international environment.
- Have experience in the design of metallic and reinforced concrete structures including connections, base plates, etc.
- Have experience in the design of shallow and deep foundations.
- Are familiar with SAP 2000.
- Have the ability to work in a team and technical rigour.
- Work autonomously and with an innovative mindset.
- Are willing to travel and travel to other countries.
- Have advanced English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.

Civil & Structural Geotechnical Engineer
Key activities and responsibilities: As part of Civil team and in particular within the Geotechnical Group, the Geotechnical Engineer will work with the Project Civil Leader with the following tasks:
- Prepare specifications for geotechnical and topographical survey.
- Prepare project specifications for earthworks.
- Prepare work requisitions for tenders.
- Prepare geotechnical interpretative report.
- If external services are necessary, collaborate in the identification of specialized suppliers, drawing up technical specifications, evaluating offers, and coordinating suppliers to ensure technical interface with the project team.
- Define pile bearing capacities and shallow foundations.
- Study geotechnical surveys.
- Follow up geotechnical-structural interface engineering.
- Where necessary, design soil‑structure interaction.
Personal Attributes
- Degree in Civil Geotechnical Engineering or Master in Geotechnical.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Geotechnical engineering in plant engineering companies in petrochemical, oil & gas, and power.
- Experience in international working groups distributed in different locations.
- Fluent English speaker and writer.
- Good knowledge of Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Plaxis.
- Full availability for transfers abroad at site or office.
Civil & Structural Steel Senior Engineer
Key Activities & Responsibilities: As a Civil & Structural Steel Senior Engineer will cooperate with the Project Director/Manager (PD/PM), Project Engineering Manager (PEM), Civil Discipline Lead (DL) in the execution of the Steelwork activities. The Specialist reports functionally to the DL for the project‑specific details and hierarchically to the Group Leader (GL) or Head of Department (HoD) for the Company peculiarities and standards.
- Prepare and discuss with the Project Team and HoD/GL the execution strategy of the project (including the project schedule) and assure its application throughout the entire project life.
- Cooperate and coordinate with the PEM and the DL to create and maintain the project procedures, guidelines and standards.
- Assure coordination of the activities of the discipline regardless of location and engineering center distribution, guaranteeing consistency of documents with the contract, respect of the time schedule, implementation of contract requirements, compliance of assigned budget (cost & man‑hours) and quality of deliverables under the guidance of the PEM and cooperating with the DL.
- Interact with client representatives and vendors for all technical topics impacting on the project for both time and costs.
- Guarantee assistance to the Procurement, Inspection and Construction departments upon request as per project needs.
- Guarantee quality of deliverables generated and compliance with the contractual requirements satisfying the assigned budget and time schedule.
- Assist the GL or HoD in guaranteeing the application and continuous updating of department and company standards, procedures, and work instructions.
- Secure steel works design (process industrial buildings, pipe racks, warehouse etc.) on the basis given by the DL, and in agreement with other disciplines.
- Coordinate Steel detailing Engineering subcontractors and Steel Vendors.
- Coordinate all activities across different engineering centers, using necessary engineers, checking issued documents, in compliance with budget and schedule, while securing cost optimisation.
- Secure 3D model and drawing extraction of steel works according to the structural calculation.
- Coordinate steel works design based on data received from other disciplines (Layout & Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Design HSE, Mechanical, Design & Utilities/Power Process, HVAC etc.).
- Actively participate in planning and monitoring steel works activities, from basic design, to fabrication, to eventual erection at site.
- Prepare reports and progress curves to be shared with PD/PM, PEM, DL, GL and HoDs.
- Coordinate a group of specialists/engineers to check and approve vendor’s documents (erection and shop drawings, list of materials, 3D model etc.).
- Coordinate material requisition cycle (issue, bid technical evaluation, vendor qualification, supply follow up).
- Cooperate with PEM and PM to provide feedback to the department’s chief concerning problems during standard procedures and instructions, improving department efficiency.
- Keep updated on department developments and improvements.
- Conduct technical training as per department and Company needs and exchange experience with colleagues of the entire Tecnimont Group for new design techniques.
- Keep updated on technical specific improvement of the discipline and transfer knowledge to other specialists and engineers.
- Monitor the market for the “State of Art” to provide technical and commercial evaluations of new products, technologies, workflow, applications and so forth.
Personal Attributes
- Master’s degree in civil engineering preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in steel vendor coordination, preferably in plant engineering companies in petrochemical, oil & gas, and power sectors.
- Experience in coordinating international steel vendor suppliers or steel mechanical subcontractors distributed in different locations.
- Experience in engineering teams coordination.
- Basic knowledge of project management (project progress curves).
- Expert in TEKLA Structure software for modelling and development.
- Expert in AutoCAD 2D drawings and Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection.
- Knowledge of collaborative environments such as BIM360/ACC and/or Trimble Connect.
- Previous experience as BIM specialist/coordinator or expediter a plus.
- Previous experience in steel manufacturing a plus.
- Fluent English speaker and writer required; knowledge of Italian a plus.
- Availability to travel for short and long periods.
