Job summary

Leonardo is seeking a Program Controller for the Cascina Costa site (Varese, Italy) to oversee financial planning, budgeting and performance control of complex programs. You will partner with Program Managers and cross-functional teams to monitor costs, revenues and margins and ensure adherence to financial policies.

The role requires a Master's/Bachelor's in economics/finance or related field, 1–3 years’ junior experience in Controlling/FP&A, strong Excel and ERP knowledge (SAP is a plus), and

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Management Engineering or equivalent.
• Junior: 1-3 years in Controlling, Finance, FP&A, Project Control or similar roles.
• Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting; cost control and financial analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SAP or ERP systems; BI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support program planning, budgeting and forecasting through the program lifecycle.
• Plan and monitor costs, revenues and margins to align with objectives.
• Define and maintain WBS and related reporting structures.
• Monitor performance and variances; propose corrective actions.
• Define data collection and reporting requirements for financial info.
• Prepare periodic performance reports and dashboards for management.
• Assist program teams in evaluating financial impact of decisions.
• Serve as focal point for program financial planning tools and processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting and other functions to ensure compliance.

Within the Business Control Area , we are looking for a Program Controller for our site in Cascina Costa (Varese, Italy) , who will support the financial planning, monitoring and performance control of complex programs, acting as a key business partner for Program Managers and cross-functional teams.

JOB TITLE: Program Controller

ACTIVITIES

• Support program planning, budgeting and forecasting activities throughout the program lifecycle.
• Plan and monitor program costs, revenues and margins, ensuring consistency with business objectives.
• Define and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and related financial reporting structures.
• Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions and recovery plans.
• Define methodologies and requirements for collecting, consolidating and managing program financial information.
• Prepare and analyze periodic performance reports and dashboards for management and key stakeholders.
• Support Program Managers and project teams in evaluating the financial impact of business decisions and operational alternatives.
• Act as a focal point for program financial planning tools, methodologies and processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting and other business functions to ensure compliance with corporate procedures and financial policies.
• Support revenue allocation and revenue recognition activities in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Analyze overall business performance and provide insights to support decision-making processes.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Management Engineering or equivalent

Seniority

Junior: 1-3 years of experience in Controlling, Finance, FP&A, Project Control or similar roles.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
• Understanding of cost control and financial performance analysis
• Knowledge of project and program management principles
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
