Job summary

Leaf Space S.r.l. is seeking a Product Engineer with a strong backend focus to design and deliver new features for Leaf Business, our commercial customer portal and billing platform.

As the primary Product Engineer, you will own architecture decisions, feature delivery, system integrations, and the lifecycle from requirements to deployment, collaborating with the Product Owner and stakeholders. The role is hybrid with up to 2 remote days per week in Lomazzo (Como), Italy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Equivalent practical experience in software development considered.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test features and RESTful APIs for Leaf Business platform (customer portal and billing)
• Own end-to-end development lifecycle and ensure timely delivery
• Develop backend services, business logic, and integrations with commercial systems
• Build and maintain Vue.js frontend to support workflows
• Collaborate with Product Owner to refine requirements into technical solutions
• Integrate third-party and internal APIs
• Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues, and ensure reliability
• Maintain clear technical documentation
• Collaborate with stakeholders across functions
• Optimize system performance and propose improvements
• Use GitLab for version control, collaboration, and code reviews

PRODUCT ENGINEER (FULL STACK)

JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Product Engineer with a strong backend focus to design and deliver new features for Leaf Business, our commercial customer portal and billing platform.

As the primary Product Engineer for Leaf Business, you will take ownership of architecture decisions, feature delivery, system integrations, and the continuous improvement of the platform. In this role, you will own the full development lifecycle of features, from requirements definition to deployment, while working closely with the Product Owner and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and test new features and RESTful APIs for the Leaf Business platform (customer portal and billing systems)
• Own the end-to-end development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery
• Develop backend services, business logic, and integrations with commercial systems
• Build and maintain frontend applications using Vue.js to support operational and commercial workflows
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to refine requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Integrate third-party services and internal systems via APIs
• Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues, and ensure system reliability
• Maintain clear and up-to-date technical documentation

QUALIFICATIONS AND STUDIES

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Equivalent practical experience in software development is also considered

REQUIREMENTS

Tech skills

• Strong experience in full-stack development with a backend focus (3–5 years of professional experience preferred)
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript
• Experience with Vue.js or similar frontend frameworks
• Solid understanding of API design and integration
• Experience with Docker and containerised applications
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud environments (GCP or similar)
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of system integration and microservices architectures

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in the telecommunications sector
• UI/UX design skills
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ)

COMPENSATION & TRANSPARENCY

• Salary range: €35-40K gross annual salary
