Job summary

Stevanato Group is seeking a Product Developer - Secondary Packaging based in Piombino Dese (PD) to design and develop nested packaging for our glass products. You will manage development from concept through prototyping and transfer to manufacturing, coordinating external suppliers and maintaining PLM data in SolidWorks and Creo.

We require a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years in product development or R&D in a regulated industry.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years in product development or R&D within medical device, pharmaceutical, packaging or a regulated industry.
• Experience with polymers, injection-molded components, and mold design.
• Good proficiency in English.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging and production processes.
• Hands-on with mechanical modeling and FEA (Moldflow/Moldex3D).
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles.
• Nice to have: GMP, ISO 13485, ISO 10993, ISO 14971 knowledge.
• Nice to have: project management methods and tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop secondary packaging solutions for Stevanato Group’s glass products, including syringes, vials and cartridges.
• Manage development activities from concept to prototyping and transfer to manufacturing.
• Coordinate engineering resources from external suppliers (mold makers, molders, consultants).
• Create/update 2D/3D files and maintain product data in PLM using SolidWorks and Creo.
• Analyze samples and review test and dimensional reports from suppliers.
• Manage testing activities on packaging lines.
• Prepare English-language documentation for quotation activities (requirements and CAD packages).
• Support QMS documentation related to nest and tub solutions.

Stevanato Group is one of the world's largest providers of integrated containment and delivery solutions for the biopharmaceutical industry. To strengthen our growth in the Drug Containment Solutions BU (DCS), we are looking for a Product Developer - Secondary Packaging in our Product Development team based in Piombino Dese (PD). The role will focus on the design and development of secondary packaging solutions, including nests, tubs and trays, for our market-leading glass products to be processed by pharmaceutical customers on fill-and-finish lines.

You will:

• Design and develop secondary packaging solutions for Stevanato Group’s market-leading glass products, including syringes, vials and cartridges
• Manage development activities from early-stage concept definition and design reviews through rapid prototyping and design transfer to manufacturing
• Coordinate engineering resources from external suppliers, including mold makers, molders and consulting firms
• Create and update 2D and 3D files and maintain product data in PLM systems using SolidWorks and Creo
• Analyze samples and review test and dimensional reports received from suppliers
• Manage testing activities on packaging lines
• Prepare English-language documentation for quotation activities, including requirements and CAD packages
• Support the preparation of Quality Management System documentation related to nest and tub solutions.

What we are looking for

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in product development or R&D within the medical device, pharmaceutical, packaging or another highly regulated industry
• Experience with polymers, injection-molded components, and mold design and development
• Good proficiency in English
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging and production processes
• Hands-on experience with mechanical modeling and simulation, including structural or thermal FEA and rheological simulations such as Moldflow or Moldex3D
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles
• Nice to have: knowledge of Quality Management Systems, particularly Design Control
• Nice to have: knowledge of applicable standards and guidance, such as GMP, ISO 13485, ISO 10993, ISO 14971, and FDA or EMA guidance documents
• Nice to have: knowledge of project management methodologies, techniques, tools and applications

For this role, the expected compensation range starts from € 35.000. The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including geographic location, professional experience, education, and skill level.
