A leading maritime company based in Genoa seeks an experienced procurement manager to oversee supplier selection and purchasing processes. The role requires at least five years of experience in a similar position, preferably within structured industrial firms. A technical or economics degree is essential, along with fluency in English and excellent negotiation skills. The successful candidate will manage relationships with suppliers and improve procurement processes while ensuring team effectiveness.
The position will report to the MedTug Chief Technical Officer and will coordinate a few resources in the Genoa HQ and at Italian subsidiaries.
The role’s focus is Italy. At the Group's level, the role will promote data sharing and comparisons among all Italian and international businesses, to identify best practices and encourage a coordinated approach to strategic suppliers.
The successful candidate will have experience in coordinating supplier selection and purchasing processes and will be responsible for improving management processes by collaborating with technical managers, local technical superintendents and other functions involved in procurement and materials management processes.
He/she will be strategically responsible for the materials purchasing budget and relations with key suppliers and will coordinate the selection of new suppliers, negotiate contracts and purchase conditions, approval of RDAs and collaborate with other departments to achieve company objectives.
Regarding the main suppliers of direct and indirect goods and services, he/she will carry out market analysis and identify long-term partnership opportunities for improvement.
By analysing data from different ports, he/she will seek to share best practices in terms of innovation, quality, efficiency, and savings by applying the group directives.
As team manager, the role will ensure team effectiveness by selecting and developing dedicated resources and aligning the department’s processes.
