Amazon is hiring a Process Improvement Specialist for the DLZ1 Delivery Station in Rome's Tecnopolo area. The internship focuses on improving driver experiences, safety, and operational efficiency, using AI tools and data analytics to drive actionable improvements.

You will work with station management to identify problems, prototype solutions, and ensure compliance through audits. Candidates should be in their final year or penultimate year, fluent in English, and available for 3–6 months.

Key job responsibilities

• Plan and implement continuous improvement initiatives designed to innovate the driver experience and make our processes more efficient


• Use AI tools and data analytics to identify process inefficiencies, automate repetitive tasks, and prototype solutions


• Analyse feedback and use data to own and implement process improvements at the site


• Work with station management and other stakeholders to identify and solve process-related issues


• Audit processes for compliance and work to close any gaps by supporting business decisions with analytics

A day in the life

As a Process Improvement Specialist, you will be at the forefront of making Amazon better – which means improving safety, productivity, and quality. Part of your role will involve running observations and audits to identify where processes could be enhanced. You will also use AI-powered tools to analyse data, generate insights, and accelerate the development of solutions — from automating reports to modelling the impact of process changes before implementation.

You will be based at one of our locations and accountable for positively influencing operational efficiency. If needed, you will carry out analysis at other local or national sites. On top of dealing with productivity and safety, you will have the opportunity to share best practices and ideas with our EU network. In this role, you will use data and AI to drive improvements and continue to grow our shipping capabilities.

Basic Qualifications

• Speak, write, and read fluently in English at C1 level or above


• Currently in your penultimate or final year and working towards a university degree in business, supply chain, transportation, economics or similar field


• Analytical skills with advanced level in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, macros)


• Relevant fluency of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership


• Eligible to complete a full-time internship lasting between 3 to 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant understanding in using AI or digital tools to support analysis, automation, or problem-solving


• Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques


• Understanding of scripting tool such as Python or SQL would be advantageous


• Proficiency with supporting tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, MS Excel, and MS Access)

The minimum gross base salary for this position is listed below. The base salary listed corresponds to working on a full-time basis. For part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rated.

Amazon's package may include further pay components where applicable. Your recruiting team will share final salary, depending on requirements.

In addition to statutory benefits, company supplementary benefits may apply subject to further terms.
