We are looking for a young Process/Project Engineer willing to join our Team in one of our strategic and leading product lines. The candidate will have to coordinate together with the project manager the technical relationship with the customer, to find the best design and compromise in terms of savings and compliance with the contract.
Responsibilities
- Plan the engineering activities for process and participate in the overall project planning and scheduling.
- Participate in the Kick‑of‑Meeting and other technical meetings with the client if required.
- Coordinate the flow of the technical information between engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, piping, structural, electrical, automation, etc.).
- Develop material and thermal balances with internal Excel reference spreadsheets.
- Conduct safety analysis of designed installations.
- Create P&ID’s and Functional Descriptions.
- Select commercial equipment (pumps, fans, heat exchangers, etc.) and instruments (control and on‑off valves, manual valves, process instruments, etc.).
- Develop package unit technical specifications and selection (scrubbers, evaporators, filtration units, etc.).
- Prepare layout studies and technical specifications for mechanical equipment involved in the process (burners, hydrogen and oxygen distribution, etc.).
- Specify, select and follow up structural, mechanical and piping engineering outsourced.
- Develop function and HMI page descriptions for automation with relevant follow‑up.
- Tackle and solve design and operative problems with the client/partners and the site, relying on specialist support.
- Elaborate and control, in compliance with contractual conditions, the technical specification and bill of materials to be sent to Purchase/Production.
- Co‑operate with the project manager in the activities of search, selection and qualification of suppliers.
- Verify with the project manager the monthly progress of the project, assuring the implementation of any corrective action that may be needed.
- Train client personnel, commission and tune process parameters of the process systems at site up to final acceptance.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Analytical skills and problem‑solving orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the aptitude for working in teams.
- A minimum of 2‑3 years experience in a similar role; knowledge of reheating furnace or strip processing equipment and machinery is a plus.
- Willingness to travel worldwide to meet the customer and for Tenova worldwide office coordination.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken, is mandatory.
- Open‑mind attitude and desire to take on new challenges complete the ideal profile.
