  • Develop low‑power, embedded eye‑tracking algorithms using novel low‑power sensors and cameras.
  • Develop embedded system firmware, integrating advanced algorithms with various sensors and functionalities to realize battery‑powered smart glasses.
  • Integrate and test functionalities in proof‑of‑concept embedded systems.
  • Participate in team meetings and interact with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with companies and professors on projects and lab activities.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, embedded systems or equivalent; a PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of embedded systems, sensors, and algorithms (machine learning and signal processing).
  • Strong experimental background and technical skills in firmware development for embedded systems, with or without real‑time operating systems.
  • Excellent skills with electronic engineering lab equipment and performance evaluation.
  • Experience in PCB design and electronics is beneficial.
  • Experience in eye‑tracking algorithms is beneficial.
  • Capable of developing systems at a hardware level—from component selection to PCB design and hardware debugging.
  • Strong experience with C and Python.
  • Experience with machine‑learning applications for resource‑constrained devices, and training tools.
  • Preference for skills in implementing multi‑processor architectures based on microcontrollers and FPGAs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible to continuous changes in research demands.
  • Self‑motivation and independent learning, with a willingness to develop and test novel ideas.
