A leading global retail company is seeking a Principal Engineer, POS & Omnichannel Tech Lead to design and optimize in-store technology for customer experiences. You will lead the implementation of Oracle Xstore POS systems, ensuring high-quality delivery and collaboration with teams. This role requires deep expertise in omnichannel solutions and POS integration, with a focus on delivering secure and scalable systems.
VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional Principal Engineer, POS & Omnichannel Tech Lead to join our Digital Technology team based in Stabio, Switzerland.
As a Principal Engineer specializing in Point of Sale (POS) systems and Omnichannel solutions, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of our in‑store technology ecosystem for a global retail leader in outdoor and streetwear. Your deep expertise in Oracle Xstore, omnichannel retail, and store operations will be instrumental in delivering seamless, secure, and scalable customer experiences across physical stores and digital touchpoints.
POS Architecture & Delivery – Lead the end‑to‑end implementation and evolution of Oracle Xstore POS systems across global retail locations. Architect scalable, modular, and cloud‑ready POS solutions that support omnichannel journeys, including BOPIS, BORIS, endless aisle, and clienteling. Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of in‑store systems, including offline capabilities and real‑time sync with backend systems.
Technical Delivery Leadership – Oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of POS platform changes, ensuring high‑quality, on‑time releases. Collaborate with different development teams, manage sprint execution, and resolve technical blockers in collaboration with QA and product teams.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management – Collaborate with business leaders, product teams, and technology vendors, aligning solutions with business goals and ensuring seamless execution.
Code Quality & Engineering Best Practices – Promote clean, maintainable code and enforce best practices through code reviews, documentation, and mentoring. Support CI/CD pipelines and agile delivery processes to ensure continuous improvement.
