PR & COMMUNICATION MANAGER

Rocco Forte Hotels is looking for talented individuals for the upcoming opening in Liscia di Vacca, Porto Cervo, Sardinia. Located in one of the most stunning coastal areas of Sardinia, the new resort, opening in 2026, will offer an exceptional hospitality experience. The property will feature a state-of-the-art spa, dedicated meeting and events spaces, three restaurants highlighting fresh, local ingredients, and a rooftop bar with breath‑taking views of the Sardinian coastline. Designed to combine luxury, comfort, and the beauty of the surrounding landscape, the resort will provide a unique environment where guests can enjoy both relaxation and engaging experiences. The new property is set to become a new landmark of refined hospitality on the Sardinian coast.

Main Purpose

The PR & Communications Manager activates, leads and manages the hotel-level PR strategy plans to promote the Rocco Forte brand, regional and local presence in order to maximise visibility, coverage and revenue generation. The PR & Communications Manager is part of the marketing team, working cohesively to ensure an integrated marketing approach in all PR activities.

Reports to: Reports to the GM & to the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Works cohesively with the Marketing team, the wider group and external agencies in order to ensure an integrated marketing approach in all PR activities
  • Promotes the key brand programs, i.e. families, suites, exquisite Europe, promotions and new initiatives internally as well as externally (Internal PR with head office and key hotel contacts, i.e. GM)
  • Ensures a smooth information flow to brand communications who then helps to push on behalf of the hotel key stories to the PR agency network. Update department heads and Team Members about all concerning news of the hotel
  • In conjunction with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Group PR and Communication Director, understands how own role contributes to achieving goals
  • Sets own realistic objectives and agrees with the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Consistently and effectively performs in a timely manner to the standard expected and reviews this on a regular basis to ensure results are achieved and deadlines are met
  • Maintains high personal and professional standards and understands the impact of how they present themselves to others
  • Supports the development of Brand Marketing
  • Consistently demonstrates sound technical knowledge of Rocco Forte Hotels’ PR systems and practices
  • Uses knowledge and skills to make sound day-to-day business decisions with little supervision
  • Actively shares skills and knowledge with others in the regional and hotel team
  • Is aware of changes in legislation affecting PR activities and takes appropriate action to ensure that the hotels are compliant with the law
  • Maximises the value of supplier funded trips/incentives
  • Identifies and enters hotels into appropriate PR local and national awards, in order to promote Rocco Forte Hotels as a company
  • Proactively looks for opportunities and trends in the market that will assist hotels in tough or downturn situations, by providing strategies to improve performance
  • Regularly monitors competitive set PR and Marketing initiatives which gains relevant exposure in the market
  • Tracks and measures the effectiveness of PR activities using industry measurements as well as room nights and revenue (where possibly)
  • Ensures all press information has key call to actions and URLs to best drive reservations, enquires and website hits
  • Networks effectively to build key relationships within the industry and the PR profession, in order to gain new insights and forge key local partnerships for the company
  • Keeps abreast of the latest PR insights and developments, such as the growing importance of social media and intelligent online marketing
  • Oversees the PR budget and expenses together with Regional Director of Sales & Marketing

Other requirements
  • Innovative, creative and driven individual with an excellent understanding of the luxury market
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in an upscale or luxury hospitality field, either agency, corporate or on-property and development of drafting and managing a communications strategy
  • Experience within a communications role and ideally proven management and development skills
  • Demonstration of successful strategic partnerships, positioning and promotional campaigns
  • Project management skills in both strategic and operational aspects
  • In-house luxury hotel experience preferred with robust knowledge of the industry
  • Fluent in both local language and English, both oral and written
  • Strong media, influencer and luxury industry contacts
  • Excellent knowledge of local area
  • Well-developed writing skills to include press releases, press kits, etc.
  • Multiple agency management experience
