Università Ca' Foscari Venezia invites applications for an international research fellowship focusing on bathymetric mapping and coastal habitat assessment in Fiji, the Seychelles, and Belize.
The project combines remote sensing with direct field surveys to study wave attenuation by mangroves, coral reefs, and seagrass meadows, and develops numerical hydrodynamic models using XBeach with measured boundary conditions and future climate scenarios.

Bathymetric and coastal habitat mapping in selected study areas in
Fiji, the Seychelles, and Belize, integrating remote sensing techniques (e.g., Satellite-Derived
Bathymetry) with direct field-based surveys. Investigation of wave attenuation by mangroves,
coral reefs, and seagrass meadows through a combination of hydrodynamic modelling and field observations. Development and implementation of numerical hydrodynamic models
using XBeach, forced with measured boundary conditions and future climate scenarios.
