Job summary

Deel is seeking a Senior Platform Security professional to own security architecture across applications and cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on AWS and secure design patterns.

You will run security tooling, manage identity/access controls, and embed security into CI/CD and IaC pipelines, while securing containers, software supply chain, and incident response. Collaboration with privacy/compliance is essential across a global SaaS platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in cybersecurity with cloud and application security engineering or architecture.
• Deep AWS security expertise: IAM, networking, logging, data protection.
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and API security practices.
• Experience with Wiz, Aikido, Snyk, Semgrep, or similar security tools.
• CI/CD gate security for application code and Infrastructure as Code.
• Container/Kubernetes hardening and runtime security exposure.
• Threat modeling applied to real systems and security design review.
• Ability to read and reason about production code in TS/Node.js, Python, Go, or Java.
• Secrets management and encryption patterns for data at rest/in transit.
• Experience with vulnerability management and remediation governance.
• Knowledge of SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, GDPR.
• Ability to translate security concepts into engineering guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own platform security architecture across applications, services, and cloud environments, focusing on AWS.
• Operate security tooling and connect findings across code and cloud for remediation.
• Design identity and access controls across cloud and applications.
• Embed security into SDLC and CI/CD pipelines with guardrails.
• Secure containers and Kubernetes, including image hardening and runtime protection.
• Own software supply chain security from dependencies to artifacts provenance.
• Lead threat modeling and drive engineering improvements from findings.
• Run vulnerability management and coordinate with teams for remediation.
• Lead platform security incident response and post-incident hardening.
• Collaborate with Privacy/Compliance to satisfy SOC 2 II, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, GDPR.
• Scale security through a Security Champions program and secure coding enablement.
• Be the technical authority on platform security and influence leadership decisions.
• Leverage AI to improve security posture and secure AI features.
