Job summary

ALPLA is seeking a Machine Technician to keep moulding machines and related equipment running to spec. The role includes quality checks at packing, reporting defects, and performing supervisor-approved fixes in a fast-paced plastics environment.

You'll gain hands-on training on ALPLA machinery and work closely with the Technician Department to minimize downtime and scrap. Competitive pay and progression opportunities are offered, with a strong emphasis on safety and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
• Must have Mechanical or Electrical engineering experience (Relevant qualification preferred).
• Previous experience of operating/running machinery – training provided on ALPLA machinery.
• Exposure to plastic manufacturing process would be advantageous but not essential.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure moulding machines and ancillary equipment run reliably.
• Report defects to supervision and carry out remedial work within competence.
• Check product quality at packing station and complete relevant paperwork.
• Perform adjustments to moulding machine parts as trained.
• Maintain constant raw material supplies by changing bins.
• Inform supervisor if a fresh bin isn't available before issues arise.
• Keep machine area clean and maintain housekeeping standards.
