Job summary

RINA is seeking a N2 skilled planner with strong experience in the energy sector for a freelance role in Palermo, Italy. Italian knowledge is mandatory and the candidate should have a university degree in a technical field and 5+ years in EPC oil/gas or power projects.

The planner will be responsible for defining sequences, drawing plans, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, and managing timescales and costs, collaborating with site teams, and guiding the Planning group throughout

Qualifications

• University degree in a technical field.
• At least 5 years experience in offshore/onshore Oil & Gas or power generation EPC contracts.
• Experience in planning and scheduling of EPCC projects for major oil/gas plants.
• Ability to read and interpret contract terms, QA plans and progress verification.

Responsibilities

• Deciding on the most appropriate engineering techniques and sequences of activities for each project stage.
• Drawing plans using specialised design software packages.
• Ensuring plans meet the Customer’s specifications.
• Making estimations for timescales and costs.
• Supervising the project at all stages and providing solutions to problems.
• Collaborating with site managers, surveyors, engineers, site workers and other professionals.
• Be accountable for the control and supervision of the Planning team’s day-to-day activities.
• Overseeing the coordination and production of all project plans and associated documents.

EDUCATION

• University Degree in technical field

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS and CERTIFICATIONS

• Good knowledge (spoken and written) of foreign languages (preferable English, French or Spanish), including technical dictionary will be a plus.
• Must be experienced in the use of MS Project Primavera Project Planner will be considerated as plus.
• Must be familiar with planning and scheduling of activities for all aspects of EPCC of major oil / gas plants.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret contract terms, conditions and specifications, knowledge of quality control and assurance functions, methods of progress measurements and verification.

WORK EXPERIENCE – YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

• At least more than 5 year experience in the offshore/onshore Oil & Gas or power generation industries EPC contracts in the field of pressure retaining components, piping, pipelines, valves, rotating equipment, steel structures etc.

WORK EXPERIENCE – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Planner is responsible for:

• Deciding on the most appropriate engineering techniques and sequences of activities for each project stage.
• Drawing plans using specialised design software packages.
• Ensuring plans meet the Customer’s specifications.
• Making estimations for timescales and costs.
• Supervising the project at all stages and providing solutions to problems.
• Collaborating with site managers, surveyors, engineers, site worker and other professionals.
• Be accountable for the control and supervision, monitoring and guidance of the day-to-day activities of the Planning team.
• Supervising, delivering a resourced robust baseline project schedules (team size dependent).
• Overseeing the coordination and production of all project plans and associated documents (S curves, Histograms, tabulated man-hour / progress data).
• Providing the Management Team with the relevant contract information.
• Ensuring that all services and deliverables conform to Company, client and Project QA Plan, policies, requirements and standards.
• Promoting good working relations within the Project Controls Teams and other project departments and Customer representatives.
