The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the company’s payroll activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance with Italian legislation, and process efficiency. This role will handle payroll and salary processing as well as oversee process audits, with the goal of optimizing procedures and ensuring adherence to regulations and internal standards.

As our new Payroll Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Oversee payroll operations, including collecting and processing monthly attendance data, verifying salary and tax/contribution calculations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with Italian labour legislation, contractual agreements, and contributions, coordinating with the payroll provider to stay updated on regulations.
  • Review payroll processes to identify improvements, maintain internal controls, and uphold quality standards.
  • Supervise the operation of the Time Attendance platform (Zucchetti) to ensure it is updated and correctly integrated with payroll.
  • Manage external relations with social security, tax, and union agencies, ensuring proper handling of communications and payments.
  • Prepare periodic reports for management on payroll activities and audits, recommending actions to improve efficiency and reduce risks.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in structured environments, with solid experience as an HR process auditor.
  • Excellent knowledge of Italian labour legislation, including contractual, tax, and contribution aspects, ideally including the Journalist National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL Giornalisti).
  • Familiarity with payroll and time attendance software (Zucchetti) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Structured approach, problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with stakeholders.
