Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a registered nurse for PACU/ICU/ER roles. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a sign-on bonus and excellent state health benefits and retirement.

Up to 6 weeks Paid Parental Leave, PTO and sick time accruals, and on-site pharmacy are available. You will provide nursing care using the nursing process, lead team members, and coordinate care with multidisciplinary staff to ensure patient-centered, safe, and high-quality care

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and a minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
• Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
• Provide patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
• Coordinates the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through the application of care management principles. Identifies clinical priorities and initiates action to improve patient outcomes.
